PS3

The highly awaited Sony PS3.. This is the most powerful console to be released with the highest specs. It would be the most expensive and least avaialable to buy. The price could be as much as £450 or even higher.

Backward Compatibility

The PS3 can play both ps1 and ps2 games and with the ability to connect the psp.

The downfall of this console would be the initial costs and future costs of games, extra storage etc.. So realsitcally unless someone wants to buy this console for me or a I get promoted at work I will not be buying this console.

Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii is probably the console that would be widely avaiable. It is valued at around £180-£220+. It is avaiable to pre-order here.
It is probably the cheapest latest console compared with the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
The Wii has a unique game controller that can be used to swing for a punch in a boxing game smash a home run in a baseball game. I'm not a fan of this controller which frankly looks like a tv remote control, but then again I haven't experienced its uses.

Backward Compatibility

The Wii can play both Nintendo GameCube and Nintendo DS games. It can even play the old school console games for the NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx16.

Personally I would not purchase the Nintendo Wii, however if you are a parent or strap for cash then this would be the ideal choice.

New Ipod Shuffle

Last month the new ipod shuffle was released in America, deemed to be the smallest digital music player which is half the size of the original shuffle.

  • Height: 1.07 inches

  • Width: 1.62 inches

  • Depth: 0.41 inch (including clip)

  • Weight: 0.55 ounce

It has a 1gb flash drive storage, with up to 12 hours battery life. This is ideal for jogging or going to the gym. It has a handy clip that can be clipped on anywhere. Infact its as small as the remote control for the Video Ipod.

Price = £55

6th Generation Ipod

There has been alot of rumour on how the new 6th Generation ipod will look like and what exciting features they may be. So far the rumours have included:
  • Bluetooth/Wifi or some sort of wireless connection
  • 3.5" Wide Screen
  • Touch Sensitive Screen
  • High Definition Camera

Firstly, a bluetooth addition would be fantastic for the ipod, it can allow easy sharing of songs without the need of a computer. However, how would it work with itunes and its legal issues.

The wide screen would also be a nice addition, to watch movies or music videos. A problem could be the battery life as it is currently poor on the 5th generation.

One thing im against off is the touch screen. I am already conscience of finger prints every time you need to use the control and not to mention the difficulty in accessing it in your pocket.

The camera really is not needed for a portable music player.. but hey, it appeals to some people.

Here are a few rumoured screenshots...

The Futures Bright.. The Futures James

Sticking with the football manager theme, I've decided to show the stats of the future star of the game. I got a little bored with the game after a while so I created a new database with "star" players.

Here are a couple of the screenshots..
As you can see those stats are very realistic.. *cough*.. *cough*.

Wow, and how about this impressive career stats... unbelieveable lol.

(note. This player is not real)

FOOTBALL MANAGER 2007

This is probably the best footballing manager game out to date. It has a playable league in 43 countries including more than 250,000 players from Jim Smith to Steven Gerrard..
It also allows interaction with players and managers which you can unsettle the team just before the big game.
This game pretty realistic and despite a 2d playing view, the database just makes up for it. It is highly addictive and i recommend this to anyone.
